A few months ago I bought a membership in hopes to learn how I can make my dream come true.
My dream is to run a business online, work from home and be able to spend more time with my children. Almost, like a stay at home mom.
This is a lifelong dream of mine.
I always wanted to be a stay at home mom.
But my definition of a “stay at home mom” has evolved to “work from home while raising kids mom.”
Unfortunately, so far my dream has not come true.
I'm not complaining.
But I am factual and... for the most part, I don't give up on my dreams.
I don't have young children any more, my daughter is 21, and my son is 15, yet my dream of staying home with my children has not subsided.
So I wonder…
Why is it that I still have the drive to be home?
My meditations and contemplations revealed that my biggest drive is to be able to control my own time.
In other words, I'm looking for freedom…
If that even exists...
Let's put philosophy aside and see what true freedom for you is.
Not for me and not for your neighbor, but you.
Your friend living within a particular set of circumstances has a different meaning of freedom than you have…
What is freedom for you?
To make things a bit more complicated, it is good to notice that freedom has many components.
Here is my definition of freedom to help you think about yours.
In no particular order…:
Work for myself, be my own boss.
Own a business, work from home or any location.
Not working does not equal freedom for me. I love working, but I want to work from home.
On my own schedule, on my own timetable.
That is freedom for me.
Make enough money.
For me, enough money is an amount that allows me to buy high-quality groceries. To keep my family healthy.
To purchase safe and decent cars. I don't need Mercedes…
Enough money to buy, not finance a house that has 10 rooms.
Because I love crafting rooms...
Enough money to go on vacations. Planned vacations or a spur of a moment quick trips.
Free myself with hired help from the mundane tasks of the daily household chores.
Help my elderly parents.
I want to be able to visit them anytime I so desire.
Hire help to support them in their arising challenges.
Provide my children the education they desire.
Share my knowledge.
Your view or meaning of freedom is probably entirely different.
Do you know what is the definition of your freedom is?
If so, write it in the comments below.
Let's have fun and compare.
For years I did not realize that the actual drive to be with my kids stemmed from creating my freedom. I thought I wanted to be a stay at home mom.
And I never gave up on this dream…
I am grateful that I didn’t.
Over the years I tried to achieve it different ways but to no avail.
Around 15 maybe 18 years ago, I started to become interested in internet marketing.
I was thinking of building a web page or a blog where I could write my opinions, share my knowledge and provide services to help others.
The last decade and a half, I tried to build a website or a blog at least 4 or 5 times and failed with each of them accordingly.
However, my failures did not deter me from trying again.
The past June (2017) my spark of building a website has been reignited when I came across a video advertisement.
I purchased the membership on the spur of the moment…and I still don’t regret it.
I devoured the information in record time and started building my new websites within a month.
But the course I bought was not enough for me. It was great explaining the concepts, help me with the necessary mind-shift, understand the strategies but it did not teach enough tactics for me.
After learning and understanding the “big picture” I needed details.
So I started searching the web, bookstores, YouTube to see if I can find the tactics, the how to.
I have devoured books, blog posts, seminars…
Hours and hours and hours… of content in the last 7 months.
I am fortunate, my brain craves knowledge.
I am addicted to learning… to such degree that if I don't get my daily dose, I will be showing withdraw symptoms…
So I continue to search, to learn, to implement, to fail, to seek and learn more, to realize, to change, to correct, to grow, to try again, to…
During my studies, I came across some inspirational thoughts:
“Be authentic. Be yourself.”
“Learn writing, marketing skills, but at the end, you will only succeed if you allow yourself authentic, to be present in your content.”
“Write your blog for the people who can resonate with you, who are thinking similarly or going through similar situations as you and try to help them.”
“Even if you started your internet business only a few months ago you have knowledge and experiences. Sharing the knowledge of a beginner internet marketer is helpful for the total newbie. Thus the readers of your blog can understand and relate to you easier than to a guru of internet marketing”.
I found these thoughts inspirational.
It gave me the understanding to blog differently.
So here I go…
This blog is moms.
Dads are welcome too!
For moms who want to be their own boss, work from home or any location and raise their babies at the same time.
For moms who don’t want the nanny, the daycare, the schools, the neighbors, the system to raise their kids.
This blog is about starting an internet business to fulfill the above dream.
This blog is for you if you have the burning desire to become independent and you are willing to learn and work hard.
This blog is for you if you are planing to start with a small financial budget but to compensate for the lack of funds, you are willing to work hours and hours and hours…and hours to achieve your success.
This blog is for you if you are not looking for a quick fix but a long-term solution.
It's for you if you are willing to spend a lot of time to learn, learn continuously and a lot of time to create the blog, your online business.
This blog is for you if you want to build a real business. A business that could scale and maybe even be passed down to your children.
This blog is here because 7 months ago I found SFM.
(or the program found me… since I learned that the reason the ad was playing for me is that I met the criteria the advertiser described in his paid marketing….)
Their philosophy and approach gave me hope, direction and strength to start again.
I'm not following everything SFM is teaching, but without their lessons, I would not be where I am.
Since I am a very independent thinker, I searched for many different opinions, different approaches and tactics.
In this blog, I will share what I find and do.
All of it.
The tactics I try and the ones I don’t even want to try. And why.
My success with the philosophy and tactics, and my failures…
So you can choose.
Because what works for me might not work for you.
Find your way and Enjoy the process.
Be prepared to be successful if you work every day on your blog, on your internet business. Even if some days it is only 5 minutes…
Be prepared to work many-many hours, be prepared to be patient.
Be prepared to see no return for a while. To succeed you have to have the will to put in the work now but see success only months or years down the road.
Just like raising the children…
I wish you luck.
I wish you strength.
I wish you patience.
And I wish you a partner who understands and supports you in your new endeavor.
